Transformers 2

I went to see Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen today. Decent movie, well, decent may be too much. It's crazy, hyperactive and practically nonsensical, but somehow... lovable?

The pace is one BIG LOW, it feels too forced. And long. The exploitation of Megan Fox is another, I know that for some reason 95% of the men of the world think she's the hottest thing on earth but the Autobots ARE MORE IMPORTANT! There are LAME jokes, many. No emotional involvement because there's no character work. In a few words: I can't believe Steven Spielberg has his name on a shoddy storywork like this.

On the bright side: Gotta love LaBeouf (SHUT UP, I CAN'T HELP IT)! And Mudflap and Skids were funny (sometimes)! Bumblebee is love (I loved his Epic Battle Against The Kitchen-bots)! And all the CGI and action sequences! Optimus Prime IS AWESOME.

And that's it.

If there is one person or more on your friends list who makes your world a better place just because they exist and who you would not have met (in real life or not) without the internet, then post this same sentence in your journal.

To do list: Sites & webapps

Mononoke Hime: Blood
  1. Finish CMS - Almost done, probably finish it this week. After that, I guess I'll have to work on DGDA's online library. AND I DO NOT WANT TO.
  2. VN site - from scratch. I'll collect the requirements this friday.
  3. Database design - I decided to use my CMS to make my life easier, I'll have to do some changes, but I don't think it will take much of my time.
  4. [info]thorazine_tea's layout - Current requirements: Red, Loveless, floral typography, main browser: Opera.
  5. Help friends with their project - I have no idea what they want me to do. I already made a template for the webapp, so I'm guessing they had some problems and they want direction.

80% percent of those are non-profit. Food may be used as payment for 40%. There might be another project soon. Or two.

And talking about freebies, I made a layout two months ago or so: Mixit, grid-based, bottombar. It's not finished, I still have to work on the entry view but so far it works in Firefox, Opera, Safari, Chrome, IE6 and IE7. It's not breathtaking but I like it's simplicity, gotta love grids. I may share the code.

X-Men: Therapy & Drugs
I went to see Wolverine today. And the thing is, I had seen it before (oh, leaks!) a month ago because I was going to be on Absolute Hiatus from April 30th to May 3rd. I did it to keep my sanity intact, I've been fangirling that movie since the rumors started and those were going to be FOUR AGONIZING DAYS!

Then swine flu madness came, and nothing happened. And it was done.

I heard lots of HOW DARED YOU?! from my friends when they found out, the fanboys ♥. And it got worst when I told them that it was Not That Good. I was a heretic, they all said the same thing, and I'm quoting: "How can you say that? It's Wolverine!"

And there is this friend in particular that couldn't believe a word -- until tonight. In his own words: I thought it would be different. (of course, I couldn't help myself: I'm sorry, did you just admit I was right?) Yes, you were right.

The thing is, it's not a bad movie, it's just that it's kinda disappointing. It doesn't follow the comics or the movie trilogy, it has it's moments but everything happens so fast and the way it "flows" doesn't work. The Gambit part sucks big time. And it just... no. It's funny, it's action-packed, it has some of my favorite mutants, and still.

Someone at W.A.S.T.E. Central shared a MP3 of Radiohead's MX2 gig that is actually decent! I've been really upset at the lack of any decent tapings from Mexico... There are DVDs for Argentina, Chile and Brazil, and bootlegs in lossless format... and we've only got a few MP3... aaaagh! WE NEED LOSSLESS!!

Anyway, this person took some pictures and I made a wallpaper as soon as I saw them (I asked her permission, of course) -- ahem, yeah, I made it two months ago... did I mention that the bootleg is pretty good?

It's nothing near great but I'm very happy with it. The picture is beautiful -- I wanted to keep it simple and let it shine. :D

I was there!

Supernatural: Breaking free
I watched Supernatural 4.22, finally! I don't know about you, but I loved this season (I mean, demons? you see that everywhere. But angels? that's usually avoided, and most of the time is not done right).

Hoho yes, this is my review of Lucifer Rising.
